Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in the style that is his own. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European music scene and the club scenes. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta at present, Sunshine comes originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician singing and playing in the church in town. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B music scene. The first song to feature her voice was called Stalk You the Japanese version of 12; since then it was remixed and has become a element of her set. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy and Tony Award winning vocalist who has worked on stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to be the choir leader of the production. Sunshine gained national recognition for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to sing as part of President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
